The Yacht Life.

We're so excited to finally be sharing with you our yacht getaway! It was such a cool expierience to get to stay on a yacht. I don't think it's for everybody, but it was really fun for us to do!

So let's start with the particulars. We stayed at the Marriot Marina right next to Seaport Village in San Diego. The reason we chose this Marina is because:

1.) We had tickets to the Red Sox vs. Padres game right across the street

2.) We hadn't visited Seaport Village in a while, and the trip was long overdue!

It was so nice and quiet on the docks. It was so peaceful!

The one thing I always look forward to when we come to Seaport is stopping by Ben and Jerry's for some ice cream. It's sooo expenisve, but soooo yummy. Tried the Tonight Dough for the first time and found out that Jimmy Fallon really knows ice cream! ;)

Some other places we deem worthy of visiting is Anthony's, Assagio's, and Berkeley Pizza. **A warning: make sure to just order a small pizza from Berkley's because the slices are huge (seriously one slice will put you in a food coma)**

You meet the funniest characters when you go out and explore! On one of our walks we met this awesome little guy! Him and his owner were coordinating and it was the cutest thing!

All of the sunsets were so pretty every night. We went on a walk every night right as the sun was setting and the colors every night were so cool. Purples, greys, blues, oranges, pinks, they all looked so pretty!

Well, that marks the end of our yacht life. This time anyways.

Life in the Sunshine State.

We have been doing so much since we last updated you! It's been a very exciting month for us. We had a lot of things we had been looking foward to for a long time!

So let's start with the main thing we've been doing: staying at a yacht. It's something we've always wanted to do and we've finally done it! The yacht is right next to Seaport VIllage, which is amazing because we absolutely love Seaport Village. The weather has been amazing (you already know we love San Diego weather!). There's so much to do in Seaport Village and all around it. We'll share another post later all about it! In the meantime, you can check out our" target="_blank">Instagram!

We also got to do something we've been waiting to do for almost a year!! :o The 5 Seconds of Summer concert in Irvine. We've seen them four times now, and let me tell you, those guys know how to put on a show! They're great performers. Michael did an awesome job in Jet Black Heart, and they all killed it in Disconnected! 5SOS seriously never dissapoints. We were so tempted to try and buy tickets last minute to the concert in Chula Vista!

We then got to go to a baseball game! It was so much fun. It was Padres vs Red Sox, Padres won. It was at Petco Park, which was really nice because we didn't have to fuss with parking (who else hates having to find parking in SD). Plus, we got root beer floats, and let me tell you, those were some great root beer floats.

That pretty much sums up we've been up to these last few weeks. We've been active on Instagram (where's our medal?), so make sure to check it out and follow us!

Road Trip Tips

Posted by It's Our Everyday Life on August 28, 2016 at 2:05 AM Comments comments (0)

I think the most stressful part of a trip can sometimes be the journey there. We're so anxious to get to our destination, that sometimes our getting there can be a little difficult. You're an hour and half from home when you realize you forgot your phone charger. Or your SD card. Or your pajamas. These are all too real expieriences that we ALL face. While it can be difficult, there are a lot of ways we can make it a little easier on ourselves.

Make a list.

You must make a list. Whether it be on your phone, a sticky note, a chocolate bar wrapper, just do it.  Didn't mean to get all Shia LaBeouf on you there, but really. If you make a list of everything you need to pack, it will ensure that you won't forget what's most important. We even having running lists on our phones of places we want to visit and want to eat at! It always comes in handy to have things you want to do, it keeps you spontaneous! We've discovered some of our favorite places this way!

Pack snacks.

Even if you don't think you need snacks, pack them. It's always nice to have a little something with you in case you realize that, yes, that line to get into Shake Shack is going to take a while. Nuts, granola bars, and dried fruit always pack well and are great at keeping you going.

Get gas.

Please get gas. Even when you feel like you will have enough gas to get to your destination, or that you will have plenty of stations nearby, just do us all a favor and fill up your tank. It's such a scary and stressful moment when your light comes on to fill up and there is another 30 miles to the closest station. The majority of you know the terrible feeling of an empty tank, (and hats off to you if you don't, keep it up!) and it is just not good. Keep your sanity and just fill it up.

Be prepared.

Especially if you're going somewhere you've never been before, be prepared. If you use your phone for directions, have a backup. You never know if your phone will suddenly freeze or lose an internet connection. We always always always print out some directions online just in case. It's just a nice cushion to have in case something does happen.

Be comfortable.

Always dress in comfortable clothes when you travel. This is not the time to break in those new shoes you just bought or to wear those super skinny jeans you love. You might love them and think you look great, but it's just not practical. It's always nice to have something that's easy to wear so you can be up for anything. When you're roadtripping, you don't know what you'll end up finding or wanting to stop at along the way.

This might not be a necessity to everyone, but for us it is! Make a new music playlist, download some podcasts, or buy an audiobook! It makes the time go by a lot faster, and it makes it so fun!

Utah Road Trip Pt. 2

Posted by It's Our Everyday Life on August 19, 2016 at 6:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Hellooooooo! This post will mark the end of our pictures from Utah. :( If you want to read the first part, click here

We ended up having a little more time then we thought coming back. In an effort to stretch the trip as much as possible, we desperately researched for more stops. Our findings led us to Sand Hollow Lake!

It was such an interesting place to visit in Utah! It was like nothing we had ever seen before.

The color of the sand left us in awe. We were dressed in comfy travel clothes, but once we got there, we couldn't resist changing into some swimsuits! The water was so clear, and the whole lake was just so different. We would definitely recommend stopping by!

I think the really amazing part was the rock. It was strange, instead of sand under your toes, there was rock!

The next morning we made our way to Zion National Park. We had to of course bring our essentials! (the mints really aren't an essential, but look how much color they bring to the picture!)

We had never been there, and we had no idea what it was going to be like. Thank you all so much for helping us to have an idea of what it would be like, and how to be prepared! You really where in water!! :o It was a good thing we brought the proper shoes!!

You take a bus to the trail you want to take. For us, that was the Narrows. On the bus we heard some people saying they were just going for the bus ride! There is nothing like actually hiking. The Narrows was just the perfect trail for us!

The hike starts by walking through a trail.

You still can see a lot of the trail if you go this way.

Eventually the trail just leads into water. It's then that you really get a special treat. We were really worried that we wouldn't be able to take pictures. the good thing is that after talking with some of you who went, we got great advice on what we should do. At some points you do get around waist deep in water, so make sure to be super cautious! We ended up bringing a backpack and putting our phones in a ziplock. If you go, make sure to take PLENTY of water! It was pretty warm when we went, and we each went through around 50 oz. of water each!!

After your long exhausting hike it's nice to have some refreshing water to drink! You WILL need it!!

It was soooo nice to visit Utah. Everything we got to see and got to visit was unlike anything we had ever seen before. We will definitely be coming back again! Make sure to check out our other posts on Utah here, and check out the video we did" target="_blank">here!

Also, we finally created a tumblr! So check us out on there too ;)

Utah Road Trip Pt. 1

Posted by It's Our Everyday Life on July 22, 2016 at 10:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Wow! We are finally back from our Utah road trip! It was such a fun trip to go on, and it was nice to see so many mountains and green! We really did fall in love with Utah on this trip!

For the first few days of our trip, we stayed in St. George. Since we're from a busy spot in California, St. George was such a fun place to stay! We loved seeing all the cows,

     all the countryside,

and of course, all the mountains!

I think it's safe to stay that St. George was one of our favorite places to drive through!!

Our next stop was Provo. We got to stay here the longest, so we got in some more sights!

We got to see Provo's Peak, and Bridal Veil Falls...

And Finding Dory! Okay, that has absolute nothing to do with Utah, but we had to see it! The theaters have tickets for $5 on Tuesdays, and coming from California where a movie ticket is considered "cheap" at $12, we couldn't resist! Let's be honest though, $5 or $20, Finding Dory was worth it!

We got to try a few places out in Provo that the locals recommended we try, and here's what we think made the list of our favorites:

If you see one close by, stop. If not for you, for us! Macey's was such a strange concept to us, but we're taking it! It's a grocery store, but if you pop in you'll see that you can also go in and grab an ice cream cone. Not only are they ridiculously cheap, they're also delicious! We would say to go for the baby cone, but if you really want to have some fun, get the king cong cone! It's a half pound of ice cream! WOW!

Our next favorite would have to be Aubergine. (Yes, eggplant. We're looking at you british people ;)) Aubergine really should be a restaurant in L.A.! They make sandwitches, salads, smoothies, acai bowls, really anything you could want on a warm day. Since it was averaging 108 when we were there, we definitely ate here more than once!

Whether you pick a sandwitch or salad, you'll start with your protein, then choose your toppings, and finally choose your sauce (their salsa is delcious!). They have such a big variety or mixed veg and grains! To be honest, they all really go together, so don't worry about trying to get the perfect flavor combo!

If you like sweet potatoes and lemonade, make it a combo. The extra few dollars are definitely worth it! I'm not much of a soda person, so I usually always get water, but the cucumber mint lemonade is amazing. As I'm typing this, it's currently 112 back home, and I'm seriously drooling over this photo at the thought of having one right now!!

The next thing we would recommend to get is the acai bowl. We did feel it was a little too sweet though, so if we went again, we would probably try and ask for it with no agave. Other than that though, it was super good and really hit the spot!

That's all we'll share with you this week, but next week we'll show you around Zion National Park and Las Vegas! We hope you enjoyed a little look into our time in Utah! Leave us a comment down below where your favorite road trip stop is! We'd love to know.

We started off our day at Irvine Spectrum. If you're ever visiting Irvine, it's a good place to stop by since it has a lot of the classic shops and restaurants people like to go to when they visit. Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Veggie Grill, and Pressed Juicery are all there. Sad to say, the Pressed in Irvine still isn't serving "ice cream", but rest assured it is on the way!!

After a little shopping, we stopped at Veggie Grill for a quick lunch. If you ever decide to stop by and try Veggie Grill, a burger is always a good option. Our favorite is probably the Papa's Portobello, but they're all really good. (plus you get fries, and who doesn't love french fries?!)

We then walked around a bit more and left for our next stop.

Our next stop is a long awaited destination. That place is an ice cream shop called After's. We weren't too sure about eating here, but we were sadly mistaken. After's is a place you definitely need to try if you like ice cream. Their real specialty though is their famous Miky Bun. It's basically a warm glazed donut milky bun stuffed with the ice cream and topping of your choice. Do us a favor though and don't make the mistake that we did and ask for the "donut thing" because feelings are going to be hurt and it will most likely be yours.

Cookie Butter ice cream in a waffle cone

     Peachy Mango with gummy bears

And finally...

When we finished, we went to go see, "Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things". We then had a smooth drive home until our GPS tricked us into going through a toll road, the tradition whenever we go to Irvine it seems.

Leave us a comment down below of where you would like us to go next! Also, go check out our vide that we did of San Diego! We worked hard on it for you guys!

Santa Monica

If you haven't been to Santa Monica, GO. It's such a cool place to visit. There's plenty of stores, restaurants, and places to visit. And of course, you have to stop by and see the beach. When we go, we usually start by walking around all the shops. They have so many cool stores to shop at.

Helpful tip: if you're ever in a popular place here, when you find a parking, just park there. Don't be that person that wants to park right in front, it's just not going to happen and it's not worth the effort. Plus, you get to see more of the place you're visiting when you walk!

One of the biggest benefits: seeing cute animals! Look at this bully! He was so cute waiting for his parents to finish eating!

We also got to walk through this cool little garden on the way too!

Now comes the good part. FOOD! We of course had to stop by our favorite, Urth. We tried the taco salad this time and it was super good!

Before we left, we stopped in LA to try Milk.

    Mhmm...cookies and cream!

That's a wrap for today's post. We hope you enjoyed us showing you around Santa Monica. We're going to be going back soon, so if you have any places you recommend for us to try, let us know!
